Well here we are again in Croatia! But this time we got to see a few different faces and places. My dad’s sister Anna moved from Australia with her husband and three kids about 5 years ago to come and make a new life in a coastal town called Novi Vinodolski. I was really excited as the kids would have changed so much Marinko the oldest is now 21 a fully grown man with facial hair and all. It was really cool seeing them all with their newly developed Croatian accents and it was funny when they had forgotten the way some things were said in English and I had to remind them.
Auntie Anna was a very gracious host and we had plenty to eat all the time. I got to eat some of my favourites again like grah (bean soup) and nicely cooked wonderful meat, unlike the crap they have in
London. The family seems to all be doing well enjoying the relaxed lifestyle but I think it really comes alive in summer with all the tourists that come to visit. I think that Marinko especially loves the tourists particularly the young female
type that speaks limited English. Nicole loves hanging out with her friends and she loves good charlotte so she scores extra points with me. The little blonde one in the middle (Tonce) has developed a great musical talent with a local instrument. He looks really cute in his traditional costume and he performs well but I still think the instrument sounds like a drowning herd of Elephants. ![]()
Josip enjoyed his conversations with Neso but really likes Marin and I think that this is because Marin laughs at all his jokes and actually thinks Jos is funny. We enjoyed our few days their and will probably be around in summer to say hello as we have booked a trip to Croatia in July.

Hey guys, Nice updates Mel but I have to ask – where's josip's perspective on all these places? I'm sure he has a thing or two to say about your experiences :DTake care guys. Speak to you soon.Jos K
Hey Mel, Still looking as gorgeous as ever! Glad to hear you guys are having a good time. My bro and his wife (who are now based in London) have gone to Oslo for their first wedding anniversary. You guys should check it out too… cold but! Take care
Hi guys….how was your trip to Cro…????….I have no idea where time seems to be flying but you both seem to be having the time of your lives so be sure to keep that up…..I'm sure its been great catching up with the family and it has gotta be awaesome being able to work and then book holidays all over the place like this….Happy travels and yeah…. how slack are you Josip….figures Melanie has to do all the updating…typical….ha ….ha….Miss you guys….Mary
Just because I write in first person does not mean that Josip's thoughts and experiences are not there in each blog. Do you think I'm the one that notices all the shit
on the streets of Venice like Jos did!
Josip’s perspective is beautifully captured through his awesome pictures!
Jos is far from slack. He created the web site from scratch. He also adds all the stories with their pictures which takes a lot of time.
So the least I can do is take the time to write both of our experiences to present a wonderful story for our audience!
Hi there Melanie and Josip,
What a surprise to get on the web and see the whole Zun family, after printing out the picture I went around the whole house, firstly showing Ash who was also surprised and then your snoring and fast asleep dad, who woke up briefly and said “Yeah.” Tom was next and had already seen it and lastly Nick who said “Oh yeah they are different”.
They certainly have all changed the kids that is.
Anyway keep putting up the pictures and blogs, can’t wait for the next ones.P.S Melanie I’ve asked Barbara if we can have a look at your old nursing books that Ashley might be able to use. I was wondering if you had marked the boxes in storage .
bye for now. Hugs and kisses.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The same thing happened to me after i moved to Malaysia the first time, my vocabulary went to hell.
