Hi everyone. It has been a long while since we have posted anything on our website mostly due to being very busy travelling and settling back into life in Australia. However we would like to start fresh and for our first post for 2008 we would like to introduce our beautiful little girl Lily. But before we tell our story, you are probably wondering about all the adventures in between our last post and now. Well we have many stories and photos to share and will be working on them shortly so stay posted and we look forward to reading all your comments.
Our precious little girls due date was coming closer and it was now the 21st of April. I must admit I was becoming a little impatient not because I was hating the pregnancy but all because I just wanted to meet this little jelly bean that was now the size of a football in my belly. My estimated delivery date was the 23rd of April but I was predicting she would arrive before this on the 21st of April and Josip predicted about a week late! Well neither of us was correct as all the drama started at precisely 0030hrs on the 22nd of April.
Her delivery was quick especially for a first time pregnancy. My waters broke at 3am and she was in my arms by 7am. When we arrived at the hospital I was in so much pain and my contractions were only three minutes apart. So you could only imagine my reaction when the midwife said I was only a centimetre dilated. She then also told me how the lady next door was in labour for 48hrs, how comforting!!! Well all I can say is thank God for Josip as he calmed me down and dealt well with me shouting out for the epidural with a few swear words thrown in.
However Lily had different plans and when the doctor came to examine me 20 minutes later I was already 9cm dilated. Before I knew it I was pushing little Lily out and it was all over within 30 minutes. I can’t believe I did it all drug free. When she was put on my chest it was the best feeling I have ever felt in my life. She came out crying and wide eyed. Josip and I couldn’t help but cry and admire this beautiful little creature we had both created. She looked just perfect and had lots of hair. She was 50cm long and weighed 6 pound 7 ounces or 3040grams.
Unfortunately I had to be taken to the operating theatre to stop some internal bleeding but I am feeling much better now and we are both happy to be home with our little Lily. She’s so cute and we both just can’t help but stare at her. We love watching her silly little faces she pulls and noises she makes which are mostly due to excess gas. She is so small but I can’t wait until she gets a little bigger so that I can dress her up. All that fits her at the moment are 0000 bonds wonder suits. She is also a little gut’s like her mum and gets very frustrated when the food does not come when she is ready. Breast feeding can be a little frustrating at the start. But both mummy and Lily have now got the hang of it, thanks to the help of daddy who I am sure used to be a lactation consultant in his past life.
Here are some more photos of our little angel in her first few weeks of life. Enjoy and we hope to be on here again soon with many more stories to tell.

It’s so amazing, just reminds me of the time when Kylie was born, I surely said a swear word or two and she did come quick. It’s hard when you can’t hold them as you need to be operated on. But it’s all worth it in the end & the time when you get to dress them up. It’s still amazing now & to think I will be doing it again soon it really puts a smile on my face.
Congrats to you both again. Love Deborah V.
Congratulations to you both!!
